چکیده
An Early Ordovician fauna of linguliform brachiopods and euconodonts is described from the Alum Shale Formation in northernmost Västerbotten County, northern Sweden. The was recovered a single carbonate concretion collected at an exposure near shore Lake Storvindeln. Despite fragmentary tectonized preservation obtained fossils, least eight different taxa four species could be identified. Among brachiopods, ephippelasmatid Pomeraniotreta biernatae Bednarczyk, 1986 most common; it associated among others with acrotretids Eurytreta cf. sabrinae (Callaway, 1877) Ottenbyella sp., spinose specimen potentially representing zhanatellid Thysanotos. Two brachiopod appear to present new species, n. sp. Mytoella? but additional material would needed for formal description. Euconodont specimens are rare comprise coniform elements Drepanodus arcuatus Pander, 1856, Drepanoistodus aff. amoenus (Lindström, 1955) sensu Löfgren (1994), Paroistodus numarcuatus Rossodus manitouensis Repetski & Ethington, 1983. Evaluation stratigraphic distribution under consideration local geology, suggests that investigated sample represents level upper part Tremadocian (Tr2) Formation. occurrence age diagnostic (Tremadocian) fossils

Beecher's Trilobite Bed Revisited: Ecology of an Ordovician Deepwater Fauna
Beecher's Trilobite Bed in the Frankfort Shale of New York State preserves an exceptional record of the benthic macrofauna of a Late Ordovician deepwater marine environment. It has long been famous for specimens of the trilobites Triarthrus eatoni (Hall), Cryptolithus bellulus (Ulrich), Primaspis crosotus (Locke), and Cornuproetus beecheri (Ruedemann), new combination, which preserve the ventra...

The aim of this study is to analyze the assemblage of trilobites in the Silurian sequences of Iran by exploring stratigraphic section of the Silurian Niur Formation (Asadli section). Based on comprehensive field studies and laboratory investigations three Trilobite genera were identified in the study area including Calymene blumenbachii, Gravicalymene convolva, Dalmanites brevigladiolus </...
متن کاملFenxiang biota: a new Early Ordovician shallow-water fauna with soft-part preservation from China
Our perception of biodiversity in the geological past is incomplete and biased because most organisms did not have mineralized skeletons and therefore had little chance of fossilization. This especially refers to shallow-water marine environments, rarely represented by localities with exceptional preservation of fossil material (known as taphonomic windows or Konservat-Lagerstätten). Such extra...
